I went to see The Police on Friday Night on my own. First time I have seen them live. Fantastic band. Message in a bottle is my favourite song. Fergie was great. I love her music. I felt she did not get the welcome she deserved on the night. Felt sorry she did not get a better response from the audience

I returned from the POLICE in concert in Osaka with my friends who come from Perth.
The show was amazing.
The first song was message in the bottle. Still Sting sing in my brain.

First and only time I'd seen The Police was 1978 at Hammersmith Odeon as a 17yr old. They blew me away then and did it all over again 30 yrs on. Been a huge Sting fan having seen him many times but never in my wildest dreams expected The Police to reform and come to Perth. Both nights were fabulous. So glad I went to both. It was hot, loud and absolutely rocked out. Thank you SO much for coming. Guess we have to wait for the dvd now! Watch out for Fiction Plane!

im a 34 year old male i went on the friday nite police concert i was in the chaired are c4 area so pretty central i took my 24 year old girlfriend she just wanted to see fergie i enjoyed watching her and my girlfriend loved seeng the police nearly as much as i did,i couldn't believe how excellent the quality of the sound was. The venue suited the crowd of 25000 which made it much more enjoyable, i have seen alot of international bands at other venues, this venue just complemented one of the best band to have ever been if i had a choice i would see the police there time and time again absolutley awesome

went on the friday night. fictionplane was awesome, fergie would have been ok had she been at a different concert, i dont think she was the right choice to be on before the police but it worked when they sung " dont stand so close to me" and fergie sung with them. but i wish i could do it all gain

The police were amazing.. WOW.. I am still on a high, I went to both concerts, fri and sat nights. They were absolutely brilliant, they have all improved with age and Sting definately does still have it.. I saw them here in 1981 when I was 15 and I will remember these 2 concerts for the rest of my life. Too bad they only did 2 concerts or I would have gone to more. But the weekend was topped of with Joe Cocker on sun night in Kings Park.. Brilliant..

The best concert I've ever been to, absolutely brilliant! The light show was amazing, the sound quality brilliant, the stage HUGE, and the music.... beyond my expectations and above any reproach! Fiction Plane were pumping - I can't believe how much he looks & sounds like his father! What a legacy! And Fergie - proved she can sing & shake it live so fine.. The Police were the icing on a fine cake, just sublime. The years haven't wearied them, just refined and honed the sound... individually the guys rocked, as a group the synchonicity shone... Even the interim music was great (does anyone know the song that sounded like it was Shirley Bassey, title something like Little bit of history, quite jazzy, played either just before or just after the turtle clip?... I loved that too!)

The best concert we have EVER seen. I can't believe how good The Police sounded after all these years. We never thought that we would be lucky enough to witness such musical greatness! We can only hope and pray that now they have 'reformed' they will release some new stuff and tour again. We will definately be there! Stewart Copeland - YOU ARE A GOD!!!!

What a fantastic concert. Fergie was great. Bet she was bloody hot. The police
can still deliver the goods after all these years. Most of all THANKYOU TO MIX 94.5, for the front row tickets i won. Now i will always want to sit front row. What a great experience.

The bar has now been set. Will I ever see a concert that fantastic, that mind-blowing. It was simply outstanding in everyway. Beautiful Perth night, great venue, electric atmosphere, really happy helpful staff, support acts performed so much better than I expected....and there was THE POLICE. The most brilliant last songs, wrapped around my finger, roxxanne, king of pain, every breath, (and the undisputed top live song ever performed) - SO LONLEY! WOW!

I am well and truly blown away after the Friday night concert! I never thought in my life I would get to see The Police on stage let alone in my home town. The band, the music, the production were all just fantastic. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the most enjoyable concert I have ever experienced. Even the drunken yobs beside and behind me couldn't detract from me being thoroughly amazed at how good Sting, Stewart and Andy sound after all these years. And to share it with 25 000 other Police fans just made my night!!! Listening to the concert echoing across Perth on Saturday night made me want to scream back to the oval and take it all in again!

Difficult to know where to start!
As this was the only band i'd ever queued outside a record shop to buy their new album on it's 1st day of release, I was as nervous as hell taking 3 'non Police addicts' with me on Friday night. Would they be as good as i'd remembered from the halcyon days of Bradford (UK) in the 80's when I last saw them?
I needn't have worried!
As musicians they have individually got better since their heyday but they still have a unique chemistry which made this a concert i'll never forget.
Fiction Plane had a thankless task trying to lure anyone out of the shade and into the stadium, but still sounded good.
Fergie was a great warm up for the crowd - although my daughter still won't speak to me for not taking her along, and then phoning her and teasing her by holding the mobile in the air while her favorite track was being sung.
To The Police, thank you for the chance to re-visit my mis spent youth. Please start writing and recording again - still the best 3 piece band in the world!

AWESUM,,,, Thats it... in one word... It was just what we expected and more... the best song is my absoulute fav,, was every breath you take, which was their last song.. i cryed like a twit....Fergie was great when she belted out the led zep tune. cant say I got into her newer songs.. she sang barracudda excellent, there was no real need for her rapping (only for the younger ones like my 10 year old daughter, who wernt there!!).. have to say, fiction plane has the good ol'e band sound,, which caught everyones attention around us. We went on sunday, the only piss off was the heat, and we couldnt sit on our seats as they were blistering... but It was well worth spending over my weekly budget to see a piece of ultimate history..

Fantastic concert! Sting makes it all look so easy. Haven't lost their magic as a band. Great support acts -- Fiction Plane singer sounds just like his dad -- will no doubt have a great future.

totally agree with everyone - it was an AWESOME night on Friday. sad i missed fiction plane - have been told they were good. never been interested in fergie but v impressed indeed! great voice, great moves and she gave 110% effort in the heat.
As for the police... not enough superlatives in the English language to do justice to their magnificent performance. it was as if they were at the peak of their career as a band, nothing like a reunion. songs were tight, true to the originals, some with just a tweak here and there that only enhanced them. sting's vocals were astonishingly strong, andy and stewart were firing, light/image show superb... been a concert-goer since 1976 and this one tops the lot.
fave song: the perhaps lesser known marvel that is synchronicity II. nearly passed out in a delirium when i recognised the opening notes. soooo happy i was there!

What a band! What a night! What musicians and what talents they are. Let's hope they enjoyed themselves on tour as much as their fans have and that they consider reuniting permanently with more world tours to come!!.

I remember the release of Roxanne, Great then and great now. Excellent concert. The boys did good, but extra praise to Stewart Copeland who is truly one of the best drummers I have ever heard.

The Police were awesome, the music was magic, they were truly the best concert ever. Fergie was fantastic in her segment and great wiyh Sting in "Don't Stand So Close To Me"- very raunchy and entertaining.
A night to remember.

Hi Ethel, we'll wait until both concerts have happened before we post the audience shots. Can't wait to see what we get from our talented listeners!!!

What a night!!!!!Couldn't believe how great the first band was who kicked off the evening. Lead singer had a fantastic voice (like father). Fergie was indeed furgalious. THE POLICE were awesome, the music, percussion and vocals just keep getting better. I hope they will rock on forever cause they've still got it.
"Every Breath you take"was a stand out, "Don't stand so close to me" also.

When will you be posting those photo's of the Police? We're all keen to see what the audience photographed.

That was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. Just blew me away, how good they were. Waited 28 years to see them, and they were worth the wait! Best $100 I've ever spent, that is for sure!

Great night!! The pick of the evening for me was Every breath you take. made all the better by seeing them live in Perth.

Yep, Police the best concert to come to town - spectacular. Fergie was great, especially liked her with Sting. Shame that the boozed yobbos were out in force. To the six who were in the second row of B3 thanks a lot for urinating on two of the girls in our group. You should be proud of yourselves true to the yobbo legend! What's with the security at these concerts - too busy enjoying the concert themselves to worry about security!!

Well for someone who thought no concert would be better than U2, i was proven so wrong!!! OMG!!! THE POLICE ARE AWSOME, i've never seen a setlist as good as what they played! Every song was brilliant! Although i'll have to say that their finale of "Next To You" stole the show!
Posted by Steven Saturday 2 February, 2008 11:50 AM
Before I get to the main event a few points, first Fergie was surpringsingly great. I'm not a big fan of hers but she grabbed audience attention from the start and held it right through. Job well done.
The lighting would have to be the best I have ever seen. Hats off to the pyros
Now for the MAIN EVENT... What a band!!!! I never saw them in their heyday but they blew me away last night. Every main song was played and the crowd had a ball.. Please let a miricle happen and come back again

W-O-W! What a concert. Police are deservedly one of the world's all-time best bands. And 20 years on, the live performance of their songs is even better! Sting - Incomparable! Andy - Legendary! (as sting said.) Stewart- one of the best drummers in the business! W-O-W!!

Best concert I've seen with all I hoped it would be, the boys have still got the talent and they looked like they loved being on stage. I loved being there and the crowd was great clapping and singing along with this awesome band. Thank You Police for coming to perth and making my dreams come true.
Posted by Michael Saturday 2 February, 2008 09:49 AM
The concert was awesome. I couldn't believe 3 guys in a band could sound so good after not performing for over 20 years. Great lighting show as well.

The sets the sound the police were just amazing - to those of you who didn't see it you missed out on the worlds best band they were truely amazing!I'm still processing how good they were.Fergie when she came on with "don't stand so close to me"what a highlight something that we'll never see again.I think that she was a brilliant artist to play with the police a real contrast! the black eyed peas have done a song with sting before on the end of their albumn i really enjoyed the mix she performed really well and got the crowd going!Thats one night I will never forget for the rest of my life!Thank-you to you the police for making my night !
