Is Daniel getting a fair deal?
Posted by Mix 94.5 Monday 28 April, 2008 07:20 AM
Further to the three weeks accepted by Daniel Kerr for that "incident" on Saturday night involving Scott West, questions are being asked about the treatment of Daniel Kerr on the footy field.
Do you think he is being unfairly harassed and "scragged" off the ball, as West Coast are claiming.
- Should the AFL rules committee look into a rule change to protect on-ballers more?
- Are the umpires letting too much go uncalled?
- Are West Coast just crying over spilt milk?
- Is Daniel Kerr justified in reacting the way he does sometimes on the footy field?
Have your say on Daniel Kerr.

It seem to me that Mr. Carpenter and Co are enjoying the same situation John Howard was in for his last 2 elections. There is no real alternative to them hence he is doing what he likes with no real chance of being called to account any time soon. The libs need to cut their losses and seriously look for a real alternative to lead them.
No matter how good a talker Troy is he has lost any hope of gaining the respect of the public. It doesn't say much about the rest of the pollies either knowing about this sort of behavior and doing nothing.
I can't remember a time when there was so much time and effort used by politicians to throw mud at each other and so little spent on representing us the people who put them there.

he's a thugon and off the field. The Eagles are trying to refurbish his personality but through and through he is a thug and looks like an idiot on TV, he's like a trained parrot obviously reciting what's been drumed into him.

Isn't it funny??? The Eagles have always been the "Golden Chosen Ones" here in Perth.
How the mighty have fallen!
I congratulate Chris Judd on his choice to leave. Blind Freddie can see that they are not the only AFL Football Club in the west. It's all about tolerance Eagle one-eyed supporters.....

Well I think its about time that Kerr got charged for his on field antics he does this week after week.... telling the same story It was not my falut and all you's that are one eyed eagle supporters treat him with kid gloves but also you dont seem to think Kerr should of got suspended for the way he acts on the field as well as off the field he shouldnt be treated any diffrent to any other player but if he was a Eastern states team member you all would of been arching up but he should of been man enough to admit that what he did is wrong but he keep doing it week after week.... wake up eagle supporters he is not the golden boy that he makes out to be...... he is a dirty player. But I will say one more thing is that what he did was worse than the punch that Barry threw Kerr also should of got 7 weeks or more he is a dirty player ...... and brings shame to AFL.........

Good to see that Josh Carr got the same punishment for a smaller crime. Good old-fashioned inequality is what we like! Keep up the good work tribunal. Eagles favourite is how it should be.

Kerr gets 3 possibly 5 if be appeals for a love tap. Barry hall get 7 for smacking someone.. GAYFL sticking to there standards of tribunals i see

Poor Daniel, how many times was this player going to be man handle off the ball, I was watching the game for a short time and in that time, when he was in tv shot either one or off the ball, he was being man handle, know wonder he was getting hot headed, yet he is a great player, & he needs to curve his temper, a bit like barry halls, who took the fist to a west coast player a few weeks ago? It is not a good example to set for young spectors/players, they think they can stick the nut or a fist on another player if they feel like it because they are frustrated!!!!

I'm also over Daniel Kerr talented yes, big headed yes, got what he deserved no, that was just as stupid as big bad barry, is he being unfairly play not really, if the holds are illegal as the rules state then yes it's wrong. But did you watch Geelong play the Dockers? You would have seen Ablett get similar treatment but with a difference, HIS TEAM MATES screened for him and helped him get free and he is not sooking, why? because he has talent and doesn't carry the same big head. By the way I'm a Dockers supporter not a Geelong supporter.

Surprise, surprise, surprise... the eagles supporters are pretty quiet on this one. Daniel Kerr is a consistent repeat headbutt offender (not to mention the infamous low blow). Then tried to claim it was accident (before accepting the early plea). At least Barry Hall was big enough (no pun intended) to admit it up front and accept the punishment. Daniel Kerr should have been given the same penalty, it was intentional contact to the head behind play.

It doesn't matter the club, they are all bad. Anyone that uses violence in any form is wrong. Violence on the field is abhorrent and should not be tolerated.

He deserved everything he got. He head butted the player in clear view of all. I think he got off pretty lightly

As a proud supporter of the AFL Im appalled by the three week ban handed to Daniel Kerr, West Coast fans were shouting thuggery from the hills over the Hall incident, where I come from an old fashion punch is bad enough but for someone to head butt another person they are much lower, the AFL have been soft on Kerr as they were with Cousins in the past, Johnny should be appealing for a bigger suspension if he wants us to truely believe he is the leader of a more reformed team

Hey anon, this town's full of one eyed West Coast tragics who can't see the facts... it's nothing new

Funny how the Barry Hall blog gets over 80 comments - most saying he should be wiped out for the season - however Kerr and Staker are in the spotlight now with their on field antics and we are up to 9 comments, hmmm is there something wrong there? Maybe some double standards?? Yeah I know this is Perth and the majority of supporters are Eagles and Dockers but come on - how 'bout 'whats good enough for one is good enough for the other'?!

Claire and Ian. Wake up and smell the coffee. Ian are you saying you'd rather a punch from Hall than a headbutt from Kerr. You're a dreamer. Claire, Kerr gets caught every season hence him never winning a Brownlow.

Do the crime do the time, you cannot take the law into your own hands, he deserves as much as big bad Bazza

Running straight at a person & ducking your head is "accidental".
Posted by Wally Monday 28 April, 2008 05:34 PM
im pretty sure that a punch to the face is worse than a pathetic headbutt. 5 wks is ok but barry hall should have got more than 7.
Posted by marie Monday 28 April, 2008 04:55 PM
What was Scott West doing running toward the goal when the ball was behind him? What was his intention?
Posted by Richard Monday 28 April, 2008 04:06 PM
He should be rubbed out for the rest of the season. People carried on about Barry Hall's punch on Staker. A headbutt is alot more serious than a punch! Rub him out! I agree with Claire about time he was caught.
Posted by Ian Monday 28 April, 2008 11:39 AM
I have watched Eagles games quite a lot and from where I stand Daniel Kerr was getting away with things any other footballer would have been rubbed out for. So he was actually caught!! Not before time!!!

Well the tables have turned now we want to know if midfielders are unfairly tagged, what about forwards.Well i think this is worse than barry halls punch, this was behind the play.Suspend him for the rest of the session or life.W.a wake up to your self stop the double standards and i`m from W.A and love this state.

Look, I reckon all on-ballers aren't being looked after, but he shouldn't have reacted the way he did... stupid!
