The final day
I've had the time of my life, No I never felt like this before, Yes I swear it's the truth and I owe it all to you...
Ros, the makeup artist, arrived to put my hair in heated rollers and work on my face. She plucked my eyebrows properly, something which had never been done before, and expertly applied my makeup so that it looked completely natural. Ros then finished off my hair as Clairsy, Nat and Shane entered the room. It was all about to begin...
The Guys chatted to me about the journey of self discovery I have been on and told me this was to be the last day. We discussed how far I had come in just four weeks and how much more confident I have become. Shane then asked me the big question: "Was I ready to look good naked on the big couch?" It took a couple of seconds for the penny to drop and realise what he was saying. Shane was asking me if I was prepared to have my photo taken while NAKED. My jaw dropped and I started to shake but I had to prove to myself, and them, that I could do this. I had come a long way and there was no way I was going backwards. I said yes.
We all went up the spiral staircase to the studio where Garry was waiting for us. I looked around the intimate studio and felt at home, but, there in the corner, was the BIG RED COUCH. I was about to face my demons and expose my body to, not only the photographer, but to all of Perth. I was ready.
I was beginning to get very nervous but knew I had to be brave. I was not only doing this for myself but I was doing it for my darling husband. I wanted to give him some gorgeous photos of me looking my best.
After Clairsy, Nat and Shane left; I went into the bathroom and changed into... nothing but a robe. Garry discussed with me what he was going to do and how. He explained the whole process and said I didn't need to do anything I was not comfortable with. I was beginning to relax a little until Garry brought over a long piece of red satin and he asked me to drop my robe. My red face blended in perfectly with the red satin wrapped around my naked body. After lying on the couch and following Garry's expert direction, he took the "Money Shot" of me in all my glory. With his professionalism and patience, I relaxed into it all and had fun with it.
Lying on the big couch like a seasoned model was not as easy as it looks. Garry made me look so relaxed and comfortable but it was actually hard work stretching and holding unnatural poses to get just the right shot. My muscles ached and I was very tired by the end of the 4 hours I spent with Garry. He took many photos of me that made me feel womanly and very sexy. I can now say that I looked and felt beautiful. I can't wait to see them all. My husband is just as anxious...
My husband and son, along with family and friends, came with me to 94.5 to see the end result of my 'Look Good Naked on The Big Couch' journey. The waiting to see the photo was a breath holding experience. It was finally unveiled to me on a four storey high building opposite the radio station in Roberts Road. It was amazing. There, in all my naked splendour, was me on the red couch draped with red satin. I was gob smacked but felt very proud of myself. I thought I looked stunning and my family agreed. It was a boost to the confidence and a real testament to Garry's work. My photo will be projected on to the building again tonight from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. I will be there from about 6.00pm onwards so I can ask people "how do I look naked?"
We'd love you to help Michelle through her journey. Leave a message of support for Michelle via the blog below.

Hi Lisa, I just can't control myself any more and I have to reply on my own comments page. Thank you for your fantastic comments about my glasses. I, like you, love wearing them and always wanted to as a girl. I was 22 when I started wearing them and I always treat them as a fashion accessory. My husband is always happy to indulges me when I want new ones and often comes with me to chose them.
Thanks to everyone for all your support. I don't think I could have done this without you.
Love Michelle

Hi Michelle
Don't throw away your glasses - you look fabulous without them and ABSOLUTELY AWESOME with them. I dont think Jillian realises that you are one of those girls that actually LIKE & ENJOY wearing glasses. If you are anything like me - I always wanted to wear them ever since I was little but didn't need them until I got my drivers licence. It is such an old fashioned idea that girls with glasses have to take them off to be considered beautiful. I believe that they ADD to a persons looks - not detracts...
Posted by Lisa Friday 6 June, 2008 01:08 PM
Michelle, you have the most beautiful eyes! Throw away all those pairs of glasses immediately, you don't need them anymore. You're gorgeous!

Hey Michelle, Thankyou so much for letting us be part of the journey, with you! It was such an honour to be there for your reveal last night, and the look on your face was well worth the $90 parking fine!
Thanks to the big couch and everyone at mix for picking this most deserving person for the journey. As you will have seen my now, Michelle is an awesome person, and for so long has always put everyone else before herself, always a smile even when she doesnt feel like, and the best shoulder to cry on! Now she is shining like a star - and the world can see her inside self, on the outside! The smile Michelle gives off now is one for herself, not just those around her!
Love ya Michelle :)

Michelle. Sincere congratulations to you on your special and liberating journey. Garry Sarre created a masterpiece! He may indeed have a "cool job" as Shane was saying on The Big Couch, but he is undoubtedly blessed with, and has worked hard to master, a superior creative talent to make us feel uniquely confident to recognise our own beauty. I hope he feels proud of his gift and achievements! That said, Michelle, it was YOU who gave yourself the permission, the love and the courage to have your inner beauty revealed. Garry captured your bravery and focused your radiant smile for us all to admire and respect. Be proud of your achievements over the last few weeks, Michelle. You richly deserve your happy future.

As your photographer yesterday, I have to tell you that I rarely have had someone as dedicated and professional towards getting the shot. You were ever ready with the most beautiful smile, even while balancing on one stiletto with a string of pearls clenched in between your teeth. We were a great trio, my daughter, Odelia will always remember that strange position we wound up in, me standing over you and almost sitting on her head while she kept your shirt in place. We look forward to showing you the rest of your shoot on Monday. Thanks Michelle, I don't think 94.5 could have chosen anyone better than you. You were superb.

Hi Michelle.
I've heard you say on air that you have 22 pairs of glasses - thats awesome. I love wearing glasses as well. I only have 8 pairs though. My boyfriend thinks I look great wearing different frames all the time and indulges me when ever I feel like getting a new pair. I think that they are a better fashion statement than either shoes or handbags. You are so pretty, maybe you show do some eyewear modelling after you have discovered your "new" beautiful self.

My husband has pictures of me all over the house now and I am really proud of what I was able to give him after just one memorable photo shoot with Garry.....and he can definitely bring out all your best assets and make those ones we aren't happy with all disappear.
