I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO SEE BEN WEAR THE WEST COAST EAGLE JUMPER AGAIN I CANT STAND TO THING THAT HE WILL PLAY FOR ANOTHER TEAM BUT WOULD SUPPORT HIM WHEREVER HE GOES AND PROBABLY CHANGE MY TEAM TO WHEREVER HE IS ALONG WITH MANY OTHER PEOPLE I HAVE SPOKEN TO.

Ben, ben, ben, ben, ben?
Translation: Hot, hot, legend, champion, HOT!
I would probably get so excited i'd wet my pants if ben played for the eagles again. I will never ever ever ever in this life time boo him. I dont no him but i love him to bits. I reckon he should play footy again for the eagles, he has a good five or more years left in him. He is way better then Chris judd will ever be. Screw the media who dont no who, wat, wen or why they are talking about people they jus want they're pay each week. If ben cousins plays footy next year (which i hope to god he does) he will win the brownlow for sure. I would kiss the toes of ben if i ever got the chance (and the rest of him). if i were mark banarba i would go out of my way to ensure we have ben playing for us next year. I wont even boo cuz if he played for the dockers-and im a 16 year old dorker hating eagles fan!
I will do anything to see a ben cousins come back
BRING BAK BEN 09'

I wish Ben Cousins all the best, he gave a lot of enjoyment to Eagles Fans and I would love to see him back in the Blue and Gold. The AFL should be looking at the other clubs that we are not allowed to talk about who had drug problems, Ben did not test positive but his family came out with the truth. Why doesn't the media hound Collingwood players who have a problem with alcohol???? Please let Ben get on with his life without a camera in his face all the time, if he smiles he is being conceited,if he looks sour he is still doing something wrong. Let's get on with playing good football, I am sick of the witch hunt.

Why shouldnt he ? I hope he does make a comeback, i think it will be at Collingwood but as a Tigers supporter i would love to see him in the Yellow and Black.
Drugs are more rife in this day than people i think are willing to accept - i think most parents would be horrified to know what their teenagers get up to..
Everybody deserves a chance to get their life turned around - most people dont have to do it in the media spot light. Why would he want to stay in Perth ?

yes give Ben another chance he's a great footy player. don't give him the pressure & he'll be okay.
Posted by Barbara Dodds Sunday 6 July, 2008 01:19 PM
I love Ben, what a player and isn't that, what it's all about.
In my opinion, the people who think they know, have never experienced drugs, have never known of some one who has, or are lying.
These boys, suddenly have fame, big money and girls thrown at them, at such a young age.
They can afford it, they come in contact with temptation and "why not".
Instead of crucifying Ben, we should thank him for bringing drugs to the attention of the A.F.L. Without Ben, the other Clubs would have kept cruising!
Oh!
sorry that's right, the Eagles are the only club that had a druggy in it!
I would have him back in a heart beat.

Give it up. the guy nearly destroyed the Name of the WEST COAST EAGLES.. I'm not an Eagles supporter. How many chances does he deserve. I wish some of our other young people out there got the chances and the money to reabilitate. He's playing on the media.Sick of seeing his face in the papers and on tv. What about the young men that have had cancer and made comebacks. Ha Ha. Not sensational enough for the media.

I'm a WCE member and have been behind Ben all the way as have many other WCE supporters. I think it is a sad state of affairs in todays world when such a personal and hard issue as drug addiction has to be played out in the media. Didn't he have enough to deal with without people he doesn't know or who don't really care about him bagging him all the time. Let's hope a new start -whatever that may be- will keep Ben on the road to recovery. After all, isn't his recovery what is important not which team he plays for? Good Luck Ben.

He deserves another chance. Good luck to him with his career and his ongoing rehab. It isn't easy.

Paul (27th) Rosemarie (1st) are you jealous.
How about we show our children from good & bad homes that our society is here to help the fallen.
Would be a damn shame if it was one of your kids. What would you give up on them kick them out onto the streets.

Hey Paul (27th June) I agree with you all the way, just look at the way he loved the media watching him, he loves himself and he loves the fame, and that's all Ben loves the limelight, Ben Cousins, what a Joke!!!!
Posted by Rosemarie Tuesday 1 July, 2008 05:51 AM
man every1 should get a life hey if he wants to ocme to afl let him why doesn't every1 mind the own business than bagging the wce's GET A LIFE

Good luck to Ben what ever he does - isn't a shame we are not all perfect like some people who are so quick to comment.
To all you ignorant people who constantly kick the under dog when he is down
you must be sooo perfect and sooo boring.
Ben is an Aussie and a damn good sportsman - maybe with more good Aussie support Ben could become a damn good Aussie as well.

Dont the WCE need Cousins now, they should have just given him a year off without pay, and re looked at his situation 12mths on, if he had been in more trouble, then they should have delisted him, all the stuff that was written about him was blown out of proportion anyway, yes he had been a naughty boy, so what, its all about small town journalism. Good Luck to Ben, if he does sign for another AFL Club, I hope he gives the WCE lots of pain when he plays against them. They deserve it after not standing behind him
(PS) I am not a footy fan anyway

This guy has been given one to many chances. I supported him during his first comeback, and i think everyone knew that it was only time before he was going to mess up again. I believe people desrve a second chance, but not 10 chances. Especially when your a role model. What a waste of such talent.
Posted by Russell Peters Monday 30 June, 2008 06:52 AM
give the man a break, the media have blown his situation way out of control he became a media target and couldnt even scratch himself without his photo being taken, yes he has a problem but he was given the opportunity to take that path in life due to being overpaid for doing what he loved, and what he was good at. look around yourselves i am sure that ben is not the only person you know (or footballer) who has this problem i hope he proves all you perfect people wrong.
good luck ben we believe in you mate!!

Ben Cousins was once a great football player and now he's just a joke! I think he's had too many chances already and he's blown them all and should never be allowed to play on any AFL teams. Such a damn shame he ruined it for his fans who had great hope for him...
Posted by Christel Sunday 29 June, 2008 08:29 PM
Good on Ben...he's a damn fine footballer AND if he can make a comeback and turn himself around then he will be an ambassador to ALL others that if he can do it, so can anyone else. I for one will support him at which ever footy team he plays for even if it is Collingwood :)
Posted by Sharon Boyle Sunday 29 June, 2008 07:33 PM
In my opinion, Ben Cousins doesn't deserve to have a "comeback". I think he'll be rejected by all of the clubs (if he intends to have a shot at trying to join them all), and society will view him as a good football player gone bad. I also find it funny how he thinks he can screw up his life, dishearten tons of fans, and think he can just come waltzing back into the game like he's been on vacation. You can't put something like what he did behind yourself, and if he ever tries to, the public will definitely remind him of it. I don't actually go for the West Coast Eagles, being an Essendon Bombers supporter, but if the Eagles are wise, they won't take him back.

Its time for ben to move on leave football alone.
He has had his chance at afl football,
Move on Ben and find a worthwhile purpose for a life after football.
Like getting over drugs and having a worth while job and career so you can move on in life and then we dont have to hear about it in the news at 6pm and any other media outlet.

(would love to see him back at the eagles in his famous '9' jumper) but the twat barnaba wouldn't know a good thing if it bit in on the backside! the majority of WCE supporters would also like to see him finish his playing career with WCE...i reckons all the supporters should fill up the eagles email inbox with support for ben 'BRING BEN BACK' !!!!

As a Mother I would like to think if one of my children had a fall from grace and tried to rebuild their life they would be accepted back into the community with encouragement and support. I dont see how holding someone back who is obviously working so hard to rebuild their life is any sort of inspiration to those in Bens situation. Wouldnt it be far better for our community (young children especially) to see him succeed and beat this than just disappear into bad folklaw? Be honest people this happens to our ordinary sons and daughters everyday and we need success stories to encourage other ordinary everyday people to try and succeed against beating the addictions. I say aim high Ben, thats what I tell my kids everyday!

Hope Ben makes it. He's a real champion and simply magic to watch on the field. Let's hope all Ben's off-field probs will be solved too.
Posted by Viola Saturday 28 June, 2008 09:19 AM
I am totally behind Ben. I bet he is not the only elite sports person to take drugs and he definately will not be the last!! I'm sure his reasonings to play football again is to continue the speculation of his addition and comments like "..are his problems behind him" or "will you support him or Boo him?" would have made that decision easy, let alone just wanting to play football!!
Posted by Kristie Brown Saturday 28 June, 2008 08:56 AM
ben cousins - who cares?
Posted by AJ Saturday 28 June, 2008 06:22 AM
Why do we have to make such a big deal out of a confessed druggie. Just exactly what kind of message are we trying to send to junior sports people?
Maybe Ben could get a job in the AFL Office in Melbourne.
Posted by Tony Friday 27 June, 2008 07:50 PM
I have no place for people taking drugs, we had a friends daughter in Sydney who took her own life she was 34 years old, her funeral was today drugs ruined her life

Yes, Yes, Yes and NO i wont BOO HIM - Go Benny
Posted by Amanda Griffin Friday 27 June, 2008 02:29 PM
Ben has done some very silly things, while mixing with some very silly people. I guess that makes Ben a very silly little boy. Personally, I don't think he deserves to be allowed back to the elite level. What message does this give our kids. There should be no consideration given to his footballing abilities, besides he is 30 and how much longer can he play (football as well). All these people should stop feeling so sorry for Ben. He made the decisions on what he has done and he has to live with those decisions and not be pamperred. GOODBY BEN, even if it does take away most of the news headlines.
Posted by O J Friday 27 June, 2008 12:59 PM
Cheers for you Ben best of luck I know there are thousands of fans out there who want you back so please Eagles wake up heres a champ and we want him back.Good Luck Ben we love you come home....
Posted by Barbie Friday 27 June, 2008 12:45 PM
Ben is a champion of the game, I just hope he can make it back and if we (the Eagles) have the opportunity to pick him up in the draft, I for one would be ecstatic
Posted by Diane Dale Friday 27 June, 2008 12:05 PM
I think ben cousins will be successful if he chooses to play football agian you cant take the talent he has from him hes a champion on the field. As for of the field he had problems like every one does wether its addiction or somthing else we should also rember he came out and admitted his problem seeked help for it iam a big eagles supporter and its hard to think of ben cousins playing for anyone else.He was delisted for a charge that was latter dissmed not long after its a joke too much pressure and expectation is put on footballers in w.a if i was the eagles if ben said he was ready to return to afl i would do everthing to re sign him.
Posted by clive Friday 27 June, 2008 11:11 AM
If he can make a comeback, then that's great for him. But please. He is just one insignificant person. Let's not make the entire news about him - really, who cares? There is much more important and significant things going on in our world then what bad-boy benny does!
Posted by Meg Friday 27 June, 2008 10:50 AM
Who cares he should have been banned from all sport once a cheat always a cheat.
Posted by Bill Friday 27 June, 2008 10:33 AM
When you take a role as a player for the AFL. You take the role as a role model for the community and a representative of the state. If the AFL decide to let him play again, then let another state deal with him. WA gets enough flack! Adios Ben!
Posted by Mikey Friday 27 June, 2008 10:31 AM
Paul, you would know, wouldn't you. Just leave Ben alone and let him get on with his life.
Posted by Darryl Friday 27 June, 2008 10:30 AM
Ben could come and play at our house anytime, with or without his football......
Give him a break, cant wait to see him back on the footy field or any where else xxxx
Posted by lindy and sue Friday 27 June, 2008 10:30 AM
Who cares, once a lying drug cheat always one.
As a high profile role model for young sports followers he's failed badly.......should be banned from sport for life.......It's not like he's only done the wrong thing once....
Posted by paul Friday 27 June, 2008 08:58 AM
I wish him well in whatever he does to all the people bagging him I hope it's never one of your kids!! Stay healthy Ben
Posted by Ashlee Friday 27 June, 2008 08:56 AM
Who are we to judge Ben - or anybody else. I am an avid Eagles fan and Ben has been my son's idol for many, many years. We felt so sad for Ben, his family, the Eagles and the supporters when this all came out. He is human, he has made mistakes - and nobody has suffered more than Ben himself. I wish him well in his recovery - I hope he plays football again, at whatever ever level that is. I don't believe in booing anybody - and if any 'so-called' Eagles supporters ever booed him - then they should be ashamed!!!
Posted by Mel Friday 27 June, 2008 08:30 AM
Nice grammar John! Did mummy and daddy let you play on the computer so late on a school night?
Posted by BRAD Friday 27 June, 2008 08:19 AM
Unfortunately the damage Ben has done to himself and his Club as well as his current age would make a comeback to AFL as a player most unlikely. He WAS a great player and maybe he should look at using his experience as a gun midfielder to help him recover from his addiction. He still has a long way to go mentally.
Posted by Irene Friday 27 June, 2008 07:15 AM
WARNING to all AFL clubs. Ben is to much a libillaty.
If anybody else dosn't help the police, then there are put under prusser by the police, why dosn't the police do the same with Ben?
Why is Ben different to anybody else???
By the way, I follow Melbourne.

Hey Benny I heard Casuarina are looking for a midfielder. Maybe you can join all your mates there!!!

I hope that Ben gets back on track. His new sponsorship deal with the burger joint should help him financially. They're releasing a Ben Cousins meal deal. No burgers or chips, just coke and ice.
Posted by Jason Thursday 26 June, 2008 02:05 PM
I agree with Jenny..my daughter and I are avid Eagles fans too and would love Ben to be welcomed back to the club..come on Directors..open up the doors for one of the games champions..OUR CHAMPION..yes he did do the wrong thing but should anyone ever stop forgiving and helping..and who of us is perfect..point the finger at somene and there are three pointing back at you..to the AFL..get off our boys backs and let them have a life as well as football..no other club is scrutinized and harrassed as much as the Eagles..don't judge a whole club on one person and make it difficult for our young boys to enjoy their careers..what about all the other clubs..why are they treated so "holy"..Ben this is about you and we wish you all the best in your comeback..COME BACK TO US!!
Posted by Nicki Thursday 26 June, 2008 01:42 PM
Ben Cousins stuffed up big time and is responsible for the decline of WA's finest football team. Perhaps he had too much responsibility for one so young but he is a huge indentity amongst young people and his devious behaviour has made him infamous. I don't believe he deserves another chance until he proves he can be accountable for his behaviour.
Posted by Sharon Deslandes Thursday 26 June, 2008 10:53 AM
It's a shame there is so much hype in the media about Ben Cousins....why not just let him play football and be done with it. Does it really matter who he's playing for or how well he'll go or if he's playing on his own ability or with "extra" help. If he wasn't Ben Cousins, would he get as much media coverage as he gets? What if his name was Bill Smith and he was just an all-round good guy who ran into trouble because of who he associated with and the drugs he got caught up in....do you think the media would report so much on him then....I don't think so. Good luck with your future in football Ben....I hope you do well. Make your Mum proud !!!
Posted by Michelle Chia Thursday 26 June, 2008 10:19 AM
He is a very talented Football player, it is just unfortunate that he has let drugs enter his life!!! As an avid Eagles fan - I would have him back and I bet there are a lot of fans out there that would but too chicken to say so!- Good luck Ben - no matter who you play for - I will clap for you. And just for those who use the "role model" rubbish - I have 3 boys and they all know NOT to touch drugs - they are not suddenly going to go use them becasue BC did!!!
