Vale Jane McGrath

Posted by Mix 94.5 Monday 23 June, 2008 08:30 AM

Former test cricketer Glenn McGrath has released a statement following the death of his wife, jane, who has passed away. The 42 year lost her long battle with breast cancer yesterday. Following is the statement released by Glenn, and please leave a message of condolence for the McGrath family should you feel inclined.

The statement reads:

"I am devastated by the loss of my beautiful wife, Jane. She was my best friend.

This is also a very tough time for our children James and Holly. I am grateful they were able to spend the time they had with their mother. Both are only young, but as the years pass and they grow older I will ensure that they never forget how much she loved them.

They were her world.

I would like to think Jane will be remembered as an extraordinary person whose courage and determination humbled me and inspired so many people.

Jane would want those women who are battling breast cancer to stay strong. She would want them to draw strength from the fact she didn't only 'survive' breast cancer for 11 years, but during that time she lived life to the fullest and found pleasure from the simple things so many people take for granted.

I never took for granted the time I had with Jane and if there is one thing that can be drawn from her life, it is that every day is a blessing."

To Vale Jane Mcgath
My thought is with you. To Leave Glen your lover, your best friend and your 2 kids behind, I couldn't imagine how hard and difficult it would be for you. I so sorry for your loss and this is the time where people should be questioning God. Why do God let this happen to such a loving family, "please explain to me God". I am deeply feeling that pain Jane went through before she died, the pain of knowing that she might not be there with her love one. The greatest loss in life would be this type of loss and I would give Jane my life if it could restore her life and her family. Even just for Jane to buy some times see her children grow older and have more times to be with Glen.....Deeply sorry for this 4 way loss of love.
