My question is . . .
Why is it that when you move your bed to vacuum under it, the dust/dirt is equally spread in exactly the same shape as the bed?

Why does everyone around the world have a different accent and how did they get it in the first place?

Hi bunch If you get this in time just a quick question ,have 2 girlfriends who have moved back to Perth with their 4 kids after finding out that their hubby's have been doing the dirty I have managed to organise a babysitter for this Fri night 19th Dec to take them out on the town. Where can I take them as I am a mum of 4 too and am out of the going out loop. What's the happening place now for the 38 year old age group??
Please help as I really want them to have a good time.
Michelle

Dan the internut says,
Hi Michelle, a quick survey around the office tells us that The Ess bar in Subi and The Ruby Room at Burswood both have great vibes. Deville's pad in Northbridge and Lucky Stripe in Leederville could be the go as well... Look out Perth Friday night :)

Can you tell me why there is a time difference between Melbourne and Cairns but no time difference between Esperance and Derby...

Dan the internut says,
The Bunch answered this this morning but essentially it all has to do with the fact that QLD does not have daylight saving.

Why does VODAPHONE charge you $2.00+GST ($2.20) for a so called "Paper charge" even if you account is in credit. It started in NOVEMBER and according to VODAPHONE finishes in APRIL when bills cease to exist. Why charge you $2.20 for 6 months when it has never been done before. Who agress with me this is a "money Grab" Vodaphone should cancel this stupid charge if you are in credit.

I'm searching for "The Boab Nut", a man named Mike Hobic used to carve and sell boab nuts, my husband lived and worked with him 20 years ago! We found this carved boab nut in Guilford at a shop which used to sell them, but has since gone. We've lost touch with Mike Hobic probably 10 years ago. This was a sentimental ornament (carved with a koala and gum leaves), unfornately our nephew got hold of it and has crushed it! I haven't actually told hubby, as he will be "NOT HAPPY", but have no idea where I can find a replacement (which I'm hoping to do when I tell him it's broken). Please can anyone help with where I can get a replacement or contact details for Mike Hobic. My husband is Shane Williams and lived with Mike Hobic in Dianella in the 80's......Please!
Thank you.

I like to know how my son who is 15 years old, an excellent guitar player can get his big break. He started playing the guitar when he was 6 years old, he had been in a band and now is looking into starting up his own band. Any suggestions would be great.

Dan the internut says,
Sylvia, on my internut oage there is a great new website called Ozjam, where your son can converse with other musos in trying to get a new band together. As for his big break, have you considered video taping him playing guitar and posting on Youtube, as well as starting a Facebook page for him and even a Myspace page... all great ways to get some viral stuff going... :) Good luck

would like to know about the goverment grant to familys, they say they may be giving vouchers to familys, but what about the bills you are faced with after you get the vouchers, the vouchers cant be used to help familys with bills, and if you are a pensioner like my parents or simply struggling through the year you put away food through the year so you can have a good christmas, so the vouchers are useless. yess there are people that abuse the system but the goverment has made the prommis the familys to help and get peoples hopes up just for the opposition to try to take it away.

Hi. I'm listening in the UK and can't believe that anyone would think that they shouldn't pay more for the water they use when they have chosen to have 4 kids!! We are on meters over here for water and that works really well and helps with water conservation. I would have thought it was the fairest method of all. Can you seriously justify thinking that an elderly couple should subsidise you?? If you think it is unfair then think yourself lucky that you don't live in the South West of the UK where we are surcharged for cleaning up all the beaches enjoyed by the tourists - now that is unfair!!!

Isn't "Dancing with the Stars" a complete waste of time? Once again, for what must seem like the 4th or 5th time in row on this series the local channel 7 star/starlet has won the final. It's absolutely pointless to watch the series because all you need to do is catch the first few minutes of the first episode, pick the channel 7 contracted star, and there you have it - the grand final winner!

...and they wonder at ch. 7 why the ratings are falling...

What is the purpose of red right-turn lights at a traffic light? Green and orange are obvious but red??? Sure, it means no right turn but why not when there is no oncoming traffic and no pedestrians? It should be no different to the next set of lights along the road that doesn't have right turn indicators.

Dan the internut says,
I couldn't find any info on this? Can someone help Bruze out?

Is Captain Paul ever going to go back up in the sky? I enjoy him being back but loved the fact he was actually in the air as I was driving to work and could "nip over" to various parts of the freeway to see what was causing holdups.
Please bring Chuckie back !

Dan the internut says,
Captain Paul was asked this at the last Bunch live breakfast, and he stated that with today's technology it's actually easier for him to stay on the ground and liaise with Main Roads.

Couldn't agree with you more Amanda. I see a lot of this when driving south in the country too. All cars are much easier to see in the distance with their lights on, even on a bright day. You would think it is common sense but its not that common hey?

This probably isnt something the bunch can answer but.. I would like to ask the general public... Why is it that you drivers with black, silver, grey, dark blue and dark green cars, DONT DRIVE WITH YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON when its raining or overcast...

4 times I saw near misses this morning driving into work in the rain because idiots in cars you cant see when its overcast or raining DONT drive with their headlights on..

When will you people learn that your headlights arent only so you can see on dark roads.. its so OTHER people can see you ON the road!!

BUS LANES

What are the Road Rules when you enter a Road to exit at the next exit, the Road has three lanes, one being the Bus Lane, do you stay left or go into the middle lane (This is Peak Hours) Road distance is 577mtrs to turn.

Example: Enter South Street from Benningfield Road & Exit on Wheatley Drive. I just copped a $100.00 fine as the office states that I did not indicate in time, which I believe was approx 30mtrs?

In AFL, I've always wondered when a player has the ball from a mark or free kick and is standing outside the boundary line waiting to take his kick and is taking too long so the umpire calls play-on - why is that not deemed as "out of bounds" resulting in a throw in?

It seems crazy that if the umpire calls play-on and the player is out of bounds how can he run across the line into the playing arena and the play continue!!

Cheers

what do the little white flecks you get on your nails mean?

Dan the internut says,
I found this at a website, Medically speaking, those little white marks that sometimes appear as dots or lines on the fingernail are known as leukonychia. There are several possible causes for the discoloration, but the most common are mild trauma, a fungal infection, skin conditions, or nutritional deficiencies.

My questions is.......why is it that when international artists that ive been waiting to see finaly visit Perth, they don't have their own concert, instead they perform at a festival? It happened with John Mayer, who only played at the bluesfest and now with Neil Young who will be headlining at the Big Day Out. Yet they can always manage to do seperate shows in the eastern states. Its ok to see them at the festivals but its just not the same as seeing them at a show full of fans who are dedicated to the artists music. I'm 46 and have been waiting most of my life to see Neil, and yes i will be going to the BDO if thats what it takes to fianly see him live. Do you know if there is anyone i can contact to try and make a Neil show happen? maybe we can even get a petition happening????

Hi guys. Please explain the method of AFL jumper numbering. How is it determined when you get a lower number?

Steve of Thornlie

Dan the internut says:
Hi Steve, we believe that jumper numbers just come down to which player wants what... Some choose numbers based on their favourite player, some inherit there relatives number (eg: Brett Peake getting Brian Peake's number 7), and so forth. There's an interesting article on jumper numbering here

Hi Bunch,
Why do media news readers always refer to State Emergency Service (SES)volunteers as "workers"? Yes we do work for the community eg search, rescues & storm mitigation etc but we do it at cost to our own leisure time and jobs. We are volunteers and the word "workers" infers that we are getting paid. I assure we recieve no financial reward and this media inference tends to cast SES volunteers in a bad light.

Thanks
Phillip Petersen

Lola by the Kinks.....
words go----"met her in a club down in old Soho where they drink champagne and it tastes just like coca- cola c o l a cola"
but when the song first came out they used to sing
cherry cola......when did the words change and why.

Mix Music says:
Hi Jossie, according to Wikipedia, The original lyrics had the word Coca-Cola but because of BBC Radio's policy against product placement, those words were changed to the generic "cherry cola." Cherry Cola was introduced by Coca-Cola 12 years later.

The plane used for the stunt was a decommissioned Boeing 747-200 that weighs 155 tons. VW had initially calculated the Touareg could successfully pull 200 tons, and had even done a dry run with a 190-ton Boeing 747-400. Unfortunately, the only plane that could be acquired for the PR stunt was this one that is usually used as a giant prop in films. Apparently it didn't put up much of a fight, as the Touareg towed the jet 150 meters at 5 mph before slowing itself and the plane to a stop with its stock brakes. Impressive indeed, and we think the Touareg V10 TDI has laid down the gauntlet for our domestic heavy haulers. Let's see what crazy objects the Ford Super-Duty, Chevy Silverado HD and Dodge Ram 3500 can tug around

The new P plate laws will cause a lot of problems with the worker who have to drive to or from work. For eg: friends of our family one girl has to leave mandurah at 2 am to be at work at the airport at 4 am . Also another friend manages Hungry Jacks and has to drive people home early in the morning after midnight. Will these become unemployed with the new P plate laws?

ANSWER for Footrot Dog question.

Unless in the later ones it was revealed... "The Dog's Name" as given by Aunt Dolly was never spoken... he seemed to have issue with it. But when they introduced the "Murphy Dog's" in one of the books it was commented that some dog's AKA "Cream Puff Murphy" could be forgive for attitude because of their names... I have't collected after about book 31... so I am not sure if Murray Ball ever resolved it.

Self imposed nick names of the dog were

The Scarlet Manuka, The Grey Ghost of the Forrest and Mitey Iron Paw.

ANSWER FOR CD
B. The Legal Framework
(i) Control of Burial and Cemeteries
The burial of bodies is restricted in non-indigenous Australia by health regulations and cemeteries legislation. In New South Wales, for example, the Public Health Regulations provide in section 34 that bodies may only be buried in public cemeteries or in a private cemetery or place approved by the local authority or on private land with an area greater than five hectares and the local authority has approved the location. Bodies may not be buried on land if that would “make likely” the contamination of drinking water or domestic water supply. It is thus relatively rare for people to be buried outside public cemeteries. Cemeteries in most Australian jurisdictions are governed by Local Government legislation.[62] For example, in New South Wales the Local Government (Control of Cemeteries) Act 1966 establishes local councils as controllers of public cemeteries, but each cemetery may also have legislation of its own,[63] which must be considered in looking at the rights of bodies buried there.
Cremations are also protected by legisalation pertaining to the strict handling of remains.

I would like to know if there is any process you can pursue to have special funeral arrangements made rather than the usual. Example..if you owned a property or knew someone who owned a property and was willing to let you have a cremation ceremony with a difference on this property, can you obtain special permission to do so? Strange Question! Maybe So...but i really wish i could.

Can someone please answer this question for me? When people go on strike for whatever reason it is they are striking for....no this does not just necessarily mean the teachers....do they get paid whilst striking? If they don't get paid how do they afford to live (strikes can last quite some time) and if they do get paid...then why strike ? Many thanks

I wonder (morbid as it may sound) about what on earth they did with the dead body of the elephant they had to put down at Perth Zoo a few months ago. How did they move it to wherever? Did they chop it upand feed it to the big cats? What happened. While this is a question I guess noone wants to ask - it's intriguing.

Last week you had a day for people to call in about things or people they were searching for. There was a lady who rang up searching for Safari perfume, I didnt hear it all as I have 3 kids and was wondering if it was the Safari for women she was looking for and if some one had found it. My mum loves this perfume too but we can't find it for her. Hope you can help, thanks :)

Answer

If it's the 'Safari' produced by Ralph Lauren, do a Google search for "safari ralph lauren", a few places in Australia sell it

Why, when travelling north on the Kwinana Freeway, does the right hand lane at Berrigan drive travel slower than the left hand lane?

Answer

A listener has blogged to say that it's simply because people get off the freeway at Berrigan drive AND people are also looking to get off at Roe highway (which is the next exit going North). Hope this helps?

why is it that once the `seal` is broken you have to keep going.

Joss says,
I assume that your bladder can hold a certain amount without needing to go, then as you continue drinking, your body can only process a certain amount at a time, hence you'll have to keep emptying it as you are filling it faster that it can process it.
