Interesting article by Zoltan Kovacs in the Opinion section of last Saturday's West.. In an editorial about gay marriage, he talked about how far we've come (as well we should have) and how we're finally making progress in officially recognising (so-called) "same-sex couples"; and he pointed out the fact that you can't deny a whole section of society the right to be married; then turn around and set up a system where entitlements to do with superannuation, tax and social security can often be determined by marital status..

Remember when a bargain was a bargain.. When you found the very thing you were looking for was co-incidentally ‘on special’.. You'd come home and announce your bargain with pride, "it was 250 dollars and they knocked off 40% and I couldn't say no ‘coz it's a total bargain ‘coz now we can afford to go to the movies tomorrow.." Whoo-hoo! Happy Days! Bargain!!..

What do you think of this round of election campaign commercials? I'll tell you what I think.. I think it's pretty much the usual fare they serve up. One part stating the obvious, one part predictable, one part trifling, and vigourously stirred!

Former test cricketer Glenn McGrath has released a statement following the death of his wife, jane, who has passed away. The 42 year lost her long battle with breast cancer yesterday. Following is the statement released by Glenn, and please leave a message of condolence for the McGrath family should you feel inclined.

There's a lot of debate in the news at the moment about binge drinking, and how to tackle it. Some of the ideas being tossed around strike me as a little flawed, and some strike me as just as just plain silly.

Who would have thought with all the recent talk albout who and what's bringing the game of football "into disrepute" as they say, with all the teary confessions, the admissions, the apologetic excuses, and ... well ... Wayne Carey! , who would have thought we'd be one week into the home and away season and already we've got two high-profile players in the news for doing away .. what should be done at home..
